Baccarat is the simplest table game in a Bitcoin casino, and that simplicity is its appeal. You do not play a hand yourself; you bet on which of two hands — Player or Banker — will finish closer to nine, or on a tie. The dealer follows fixed drawing rules, so there are no decisions to make mid-hand, and the house edge is among the lowest in the casino if you bet wisely.

Cards are valued simply: aces count as one, cards two through nine count at face value, and tens and face cards count as zero. If a hand totals more than nine, only the last digit counts, so a seven and an eight total 15 but count as five. Both Player and Banker receive two cards, and a third card may be drawn under fixed rules that depend on the totals — the dealer applies these rules automatically, so you never need to memorise them to play. The hand closer to nine wins, and a bet on the winning side pays even money, except that Banker wins usually pay a 5 percent commission, reflecting the Banker hand slight statistical advantage.

The Banker bet carries a house edge of roughly 1.06 percent after commission, making it the best bet in baccarat and one of the best bets in any casino game. The Player bet is close behind at about 1.24 percent. The Tie bet, despite its tempting 8-to-1 payout, carries a house edge above 14 percent, which makes it a poor choice for anyone playing with a bankroll in mind. That ranking is stable and well-established: betting Banker consistently is boring, but it is also the mathematically sound approach. Betting systems that promise to beat baccarat by varying stakes after wins or losses do not change these edges; they only change the pattern of wins and losses.

Modern baccarat tables offer side bets such as Player Pair, Banker Pair and Perfect Pair, which pay when the first two cards form a pair. These bets are entertaining, but their house edges are far higher than the main bets, often 10 percent or more, and they drain a bankroll quickly if played every hand. Speed variants complete hands in under 30 seconds, which multiplies the number of bets per hour and therefore the expected hourly cost — a useful thing to remember when choosing a table. Set a session budget in Bitcoin or stablecoin terms before you sit down, decide a win goal and a loss limit in advance, and walk away when either is reached. Baccarat is at its best as a relaxed, low-edge game played slowly, not as a race to recover losses.

Baccarat tables display roadmaps — bead plates, big roads and derived roads — that track past results in patterns of Banker and Player wins. Many players study these roads for streaks, believing that a run of Banker wins makes a Player win more likely, or that patterns repeat. In reality, each hand is an independent event dealt from a shuffled shoe, and past results do not change the odds of the next hand; the house edge on Banker and Player remains the same regardless of the road. Roads are entertaining and can make a session feel more structured, but they are a record of history, not a prediction tool. If tracking roads adds to your enjoyment, use them as decoration, not as a betting system, and never increase stakes because a pattern appears to be due. The maths of baccarat does not remember yesterday hands.
